Online MBA Degree in Marketing:
Throughout history, some of the most used products weren’t always the best ones. They were the ones that everyone knew about and ones that were readily accessible. Microsoft is a great example. The Windows operating system in its early stages was certainly not as user friendly as Apple’s Macintosh. Today, it has much of the entire operating system market share, which is basically a monopoly. What helped them turn their less than perfect product into the winner? There are many factors, but good marketing was certainly one of them. They convinced their target demographic that their OS was the best, and that they needed to get it in order to use a number of necessary applications. They followed this marketing strategy up with exclusive partnerships with various application providers and hardware manufacturers.
As we can see, good marketing can help sell practically anything, and is thus one of the most important aspects of building profitable businesses. There are a ton of marketing jobs out there, but those that pay the most are in upper management. A large percentage of people who hold upper level marketing jobs hold Masters of Business Administration degrees. Holding an MBA is often an unofficial requirement for management jobs. Today, a number of schools offer MBA programs with a focus on marketing. Marketing MBA programs teach all of the skills needed to manage other and lead a company, but they do it from a marketing perspective. Many marketing MBA students benefit from the marketing experience they get in class, and can directly apply that experience to the real world marketing projects.
Much of the coursework for an MBA in marketing is just the same as for a standard MBA. Subjects like finance and operations, organizational behavior, and human resource management are common. But MBA in marketing students can also expect highly-focused courses in marketing subjects like marketing management, sales management, public relations, and strategic planning for marketing.
